The King of Ghazal Jagjit Singh is laid down

Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, who was hospitalized in critical condition due to bleeding into the brain to the hospital, died on Monday. He was 70 years.

Jagjit Singh Chitra Singh by his wife, with whom he produced several albums record survives. Their only son, Vivek Singh, died in a car accident in 1990.

Singh took ill last week, hours before he was scheduled to play a Pakistani ghazal singer, along with Ghulam Ali at a concert in Shanmukhananda Hall, Mumbai.

Singh suffered a heart attack in 1998. He was admitted for circulatory problems in 2007 to the hospital.

Born on 8 February 1941 was, "Ghazal King" a singer, songwriter, activist and entrepreneur. He sang in several languages, including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Nepali.

Singh joined the music circuit in the time were primarily Pakistani ghazal singer, singer and India was dominated by relatively less than their original Pakistani colleagues.
